Extreme Makeover Home Edition S06E04 Anders Beatty Family
A Teacher of the Year and her four children are rescued from their crumbling Wisconsin home by Ty and his team. The family vacations in Canada during the renovation.
In a lot of episodes they seem to find some of the laziest people on the planet. My favorite was the guy that after YEARS couldn't even put in a ramp for his handicapped kid. But we all know it's about the show, predictable. Show up to mess. Run around and clean up the mess. Family goes wild. Come back a year later and observe the new mess. You've changed the house but not the family. The funniest ones are for the room make-overs where they clean up clutter everywhere, paint, re-arrange furniture and add new drapes. Again, the predictable WOW I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THAT reactions from the dolts. Carry on!
They bought the 1981 and he died in 2004, what work had he done on the in house 23 years? This was film in 2006 so the house must had looked crap when he was a live.
This is nice but the house just had some historical charm to it which was lost. I'd wish they'd do a makeover on the old house as they said they would in the title instead of pretty much demolishing and rebuilding it. There's also a feeling of warmth from the house that you've had and i'm sure that the husband had planned on fixing the original house and restoring it's old charm. Also the thing that many people don't think about with big properties is there's more than the property's cost itself, you also have to deal with property tax and maintenance cost. I'd wish they kept the original house in tact, but I'm really glad for this family! I'm so sorry for the loss of their dad.
Money doesn't buy happiness, so giving them a glorified mansion wouldn't make them as happy as having the heart of their memories and their dad's dream home repaired to good shape.
Yes…..teachers matter!!! I still remember the names of the most impressive and inspirational teachers in my childhood in Alabama, Delaware and California (all, 50+ years ago!) Mrs Harris, Mrs Gaines, Mrs Wilson, Mrs Garavanta……they inspired.
