Surgeon General’s Warning: This video may hurt your feelings.
One of the top comments I get is that I have anger problem. Let no one ever doubt that from this day forward. If you enjoy raging, let’s do it together. These are the design / decor trends that are STILL mainstream in 2022 (WHY) and that i’m STILL furious about.
With love and fury,
❤️

We have a wooden bead string on our surgery ward, the sizes are in increasing order, they are for finding you size when you need a testicular prosthesis. Very decorative 😉
PLEASE add to your list that the color "millennium pink" – which has now been around for a solid 15 years – will die a fast, and VERY painful death. Hate hate HATE that color. It's everywhere: furniture, clothing, shoes, paint, accessories, ugh. STOP THE MADNESS. In other news, I agree with you on virtually every topic! And oh BTW, that top you're wearing is cute as can be, and you look GREAT in it, lovely color on you. Just sayin.' 😀
My husband would love #4 😂
Hilarious and helpful video! Thanks for this 🛌🛋️🪞🪩🤍✨
OMG Finally someone talks about how ANNOYING sofas without arms are! I see so many nice designs that I would buy but they DON'T HAVE ARMS. WHY???
"Sometimes, it's not about having a talent, skill, or passion. But what if I told you that with the right investment, you can still achieve your goals? No talent, no skill, no passion, but good investment can bring you financial freedom. Don't underestimate the power of smart financial decisions!!!!!!!!"
Finally, someone mentions the WEIRD BEADS!
Caroline.. i think the couch infront of the bed is due to the rise in tvs in the bedroom. maybe the private living room experience is expanding into the bedroom for some households
Love your opinions, I have none of these in my home. Thank you for function first, looks second!
My home is not a showplace but i do agree on very item you talked about.
When my husband and I got married, we were given a ratty 3rd-hand green couch, some wooden furniture, and we found a 1930s 3-light floor lamp with a gold and white glass base in the dumpster. (We could hardly BELIEVE that it was intact.)
It was the early 80s, and even though those colors were NOT fashionable, as we made money and replaced things (and refurbished the lamp), we stayed with the green/gold/brown/wood look because we both LIKED it. Then, in the 2010s, the whole "Tuscan" thing was everywhere. Well, rats. I sometimes joked that I only had to keep greens, browns, gold, cream and bittersweet red in my paint box when I did murals back then. (Well, and a bit of blue and white for sky.)
Well, we're no longer idiosyncratic. Now, we've become TERRIBLY unfashionable, BUT – we're keeping our beautiful old sideboard with green marble top, our all-wood, deep golden oak cabinets with whiskey-colored glass pulls (Oh, the horror!), my big, wide, comfy story-reading chair in leather and corduroy, the beautiful fireplace surround I made with a coffee-colors fade of glass and copper mosaic tiles (so beautiful with Christmas lights!), my great-great grandmother's mahogany writing desk, the 3-over-3 dresser from the 40s with mahogany veneer (and THAT was hard to source; you can't get the REALLY GOOD stuff at all any more, plus we had to steam the warped runners, re-create the brass back-plates, and re-cast half of the pulls), the silvery sage rug, the sparkling brass and crystal light in the dining room, all of that "old folks" stuff. Yes, it's out of style. We have a lot of eras. My computer desk is made from the top of a huge Lane Acclaim mid-century modern coffee table. I'm not apologizing.
Maybe some day, it won't look old and nerdy, but it's all welcoming and comfortable to us. It's just who we are.
Oldest grandson, who lives in a cold gray and teal house, always says he wants to live here, but he's only 6, so it's probably the cookies talking.
I'll admit to "too many damn pillows" on the bed, BUT – my husband and I are older, our joints hurt sometimes, and we went from a 1 pillow each to about 3 or 4. I started it by bringing one home, I loved it, I encouraged my husband to try it between his bony old knees, he stole it, when I tried to buy the same one, it had been discontinued, and well, it snowballed.
Now, it's like hamsters burrowing into a pile of shavings, but frankly, for us, it's really so very comfortable. Of course, they are NOT frou-frou, decorative pillows. They're very high end, very comfortable bed pillows. When we have a LOT of people coming over, and want to make the upstairs bathrooms available as well, we stack them in the walk-in closet so that the bed is neat.
So many pillows for nothing😂 she's right✌🏾❤️
Thank you for the critique of the decorative pillows! I use the ones for sleeping and that is it!
One day, I was cleaning out my closet and found these marble decor "rings". I forgot I had purchased them. My daughter's father called them slave chains made of elephant husk and that I need to immediately get rid of them lol. I did, but mainly because I couldn't "make them make sense".
pretty sure the people telling you you have "anger problems" are misogynists. pls don't sweat it!
I have to slightly disagree with the last point. I love white and I like having empty spaces in the house, like lots of empty space. I have been watching a lot of your videos and I feel inspired to add a little color now. So, I think, yeah, why not. I am going to give it a try. I'll let you know how it worked. Thank you. You've been an inspiration
Love my mom but she is the queen of throw pillows; there's at least 2 for every piece of furniture in the house.
I remember when I was a kid my mom used to get mad at me for not putting the decorative pillows back onto my bed and instead I just left them on the floor like I, as a 10 year old, do not want to put in the effort to put 8 pillows back on my bed every morning
In my thirties and just now learning to make a habit of making my bed. It’s shameful I know. First thing I did was make it extremely easy, literally no decorative pillows. I just straightened the sheets and pillows we sleep on and call it a day. After I learned to love having a made bed i slowly added simple decorative pillows.
who invites you to their homes. no one should.
lol. I agree with all of them. the pillows on the bed or couch is something I never understood. shouldn't form follow function, anyway? it's easy enough to put up deco that isn't bothering you all the time. What I also do not get is buying deco for its own sake, like filling up a room with meaningless decor. I can not imagine walking into a store and falling in love with a bland wooden bead string, I also can not imagine walking into a store and looking for one. It's random and also not that nice looking. I imagine people seeing it and going: Oh! I need a wooden bead string now because I saw it on Instagram! But why. It does not even look that good. I can also not imagine going to a store to shop for a bunch of random, meaningless items to fill my open and free space with. Someone has to dust off this stuff. And since it's so generic, it can never have any meaning for me.
Ref: bed + sofa thing. I think itcomes from hotel rooms where the idea must be for you to feel like you have a whole studio apartment (incl. Coffee station). Might as well add a small microwave in your home bedroom as well.
Okay, the only wooden beads I've seen IRL: at my friend's house, just kinda vibing on a shelf for now, because she got them as a gift from a student when she was teaching english in Indonesia back in like 2012 before they were (to my knowledge) a trend 😂😂
AGREE 5 out of 5 ~ i love you for this!! 😂 SUBSCRIBED (You had me at “hate”)
i never knew about the beads! i had colored ones when i was little. where are they now? i bet my sister threw them away.
now i have to decorate with dinosaurs from a happy meal because i dont have my colored wooden beads anymore.
