Shannon, love your videos. A friend of mine is a electrician and has installed many of these Ditra Heat systems and recommended that I run 220v and not 110v. He has done it both ways and said the 220v will heat up much faster than the 110v and actually save you a couple bucks when all said and done. Wanted your opinion. Thanks and Cheers!
Thanks for the great video. When you power on the system for the first time, and run through the setup, how do you calculate the value for floor load? My contractor said to leave it at 0.1kW, which I did, but it seems like a cop-out — that said, it's working beautifully, so I'm guessing there are minimums for the system. Sorry for the rambling, great channel, you have a new fan, your insight is appreciated. (Go Riders!)
Always the best detailed videos..thanks! Is that a 15a circuit?
Shouldn't there be a mention of a Qualified Electrician, and a n Electrical Permit?
Thank you so much!! You made my day… I was having so much trouble figuring it out!
love the deliberate mistakes you show as things never go to plan or as per the manual….cannot tell you how many times i've had to fish the same wire… lol
great suggestion with the conduit, i do it all the time for Audio/video areas as an easy way to fish cables inside of finished walls for your wall mounted tv's, etc.. really good for home theater setups that are popular in basements these days.
Thanks for the videos Shannon! I have done quite a few tiling jobs and have always used cement backerboard over the plywood. So Ditra eliminates the need for backerboard? (assuming the floor is level)
You did an amazing job showing what everything is and explaining each part of the install. The 4 negative ratings must be ur competition lol
I like how easy the fish tape went through at 35:15. "There it is". Nice
Just a small comment to help to get you recommended on youtube.
Great video, still confirm you are the best renovation YouTuber. I have already installed floor heating cable, but I have to admit, I got a lot of issues with the "self-levelling" concrete. This system seems far better. I will try it when I will renovate my other bathroom.
Continue your good work.
wahoa not such good bonding there between the ditra heat and the floor at 39:39, can still see the ridges; good video otherwise.
Like all of your videos
Great video ! A big fan of the Schluter products and love the ability to heat the floor so easily. Nice in depth look at this product. Thanks 🙂
Shannon, this is a great instructional video. My last home had hydro heated floors of which I dearly miss! May think about doing this in the master bath remodel we’re half way done with. Thanks a ton, and keep the good content coming.
Shannon, does the floor heating system need a dedicated electrical circuit? I'm bringing a 20amp circuit for a GFI in the bathroom and didn't know if I can use this circuit for the floor heating. There will only be one outlet in the bathroom. Thanks!
I love the video and get a lot of good information from them. Would you be able to make a video about how to apply and remove masking tape to prevent peeling or damage the paint?
Classic fishing. Catch and release
All wires meet at wall penetration? Thermo. wires not ran via their own "Knock-Out?" …. Mud ring in the way?
hi there, great vid. did you mention that the 14/2 supply needs to be AFCI breaker protected. thanks
Thank you so much for all your videos. I found your treasure of a channel by chance and it has been helping me out a whole lot.
Hey i love your videos ???
can something like this also be placed under a floating floor. like the snap together stuff. I want to lay down that vinyl snap together stuff that looks like tile.
Actually i'm a professional heating installer and i have to say this is a very in depth video and you see he knows what hes doing. good job
