Could you make a video all about how to hang picture frames? I saw you mention aligning with windows and doors but not sure what that means
I'm not sure what my style is. There are elements of country cottage with a bit of retro, but mostly I buy things I enjoy that feel right with the space.
I buy what in store that I like… trend or not š š š
I'm falling more in love with brass each day. And I love Boho… though not as much as I love MCM.
Imma boho girlie and I'm not mad. Lol.
The pink trend is coming back because of "Barbie". Personally, i don't go for trends but to each his own if done tastefully.
I still don't see the interest in mirrored furniture!š
Boucle snags too easily for regular use imho.
I like a lot of āoutdatedā styles. I donāt think boucle would work in a home with a cat.
The best thing about the hotel bedroom is the cleaning service and room service that comes with it and it doesnāt have your old tracksuit thrown over the treadmill in the corner.
Albert is so darn cuteā¤ļø
Agree these trends are not the way to do thingsā¦get what you love, of lasting quality and mix items.
If you live long enough, like me, you have lived through all these trends twice from brass to lime wash. Even antique styles come and go. All colors come and go except black and white. Even light beige and a light grey come and go. Brass? You bet! In my opinion chrome seems to be the classic. Be wary of trendy fabrics, patterns and material such as check, gingham, wicker, stripes, florals, velour, houndstooth, chevron, etc. I have seen all of them come and go. These trendy materials, patterns and textures are great for accents such as pillows, throws, Knick knacks, etc but donāt ever upholster furniture with these fabrics. In my 66 years of seeing it all, I have found plain, solid fabric with trendy accents is the way to go unless you like to buy all new furniture every few years. And your advice to mix metals is spot on for those people with ātoo muchā brass.
Iād re chose brass for my home. Itās a quintessential mid century modern home. It looks classic and adds a certain beauty that other metal colors donāt have.
"You boho girlies" š
I like a touch of boho, not too much. My house is a mix of scandinavian, boho, MCM, and transitional. I have never liked having all one style in my house.
I love pink. Iām not a millennial. But I love soft blush pinks. A long time ago before understanding color and lighting I had someone help me paint my laundry and kitchen a ballet slipper pink ( soft pale pink sort of nude color on those walls on a north facing rooms. No it didnāt look or feel right. And I didnāt always use the right color light bulbs. I have white cabinets and a grey tile countertop on one side surrounding the sink and the other side by the white stove was butcher block countertop. And dark brown floors. Now Iām priming the walls white and trying to think of another color
Great advice. In my new home I found that for my bedroom, only the bedroom, I am craving a soft, slightly brownish pink. Not the walls- they are BM silver cloud with white trim. Which I love. And the furniture is mostly very light natural wood. The pink is in curtains and bedding and even lampshades (which I already had). And a set of antique family throw rugs I had previously relegated to a guest room where I picked up the teal accents and ignored the pink ground of the rugs. There are a few black touches as well. And I am not a millennial- rather a seventy-something retired woman who never used pink before.
I recently bought a rural home and decided to decorate in "English Country" style. I have wood furniture that is Georgian, Arts and Crafts, and Regency but what ties it all in together is similar wood tone and that it's all English styles.
Stopping halfway thru before I resume watching to say thank you Garrett! Your kindness and knowledge have helped me more than you know.
Happy š Saturdayā¦. Oh I love hotel bedroomsā¦ yesā¦ I do have hotel bedrooms but yes I have toned down the room a bitā¦ less layers & less pillowsā¦ā¦ glad to see the tone down look is trending šthanks for sharing ā¤
Albert is just the cutest! šššš
Champagne bronze and oil-rubbed bronze combo – yay or nay? Those are what I'm considering
I do love brass though, for a specific color pallete and aesthetic
I agree with what you've said about all these designs. I told a friend not to purchase mirrored furniture when it was in because it was definitely a trend and she'd get tired of having to clean it, and she got it anyway. She regretted it!
I also am not a fan of Boucle or the word, it's irritating. And I'm glad it hasn't lasted, it's like everybody was laying on a sheep!
Mirrored furnitureā¦ā¦seems datedā¦š£
To much boho, it need tah go hoeā¦ no shade, all ā£ļølove! Itās always fun to bring accent pieces in seasonally. š
Boucle just reminds me too much of a fleece jacket I had in the 80sā it pilled š¢
I felt that Boucle was a trend from the start when it was everywhere. Over saturated in the marketplace is a sure sign. I do love your sofa it looks classic. Timeless classic design is the way to go.
