Please tell us country farm style is going away so is radon and signs with wordings
When I was in college, poor students were making doorway curtains out of the aluminum tabs on pop cans. They bent them into long chains meant to hide the dirty dishes in their kitchens, etc. Even those make more sense than spray-foam furniture. Ha!
The glass pendants carried me away because they look so gorgeous, so I bought a beautiful pair. I was so excited with it that I did not even give my husband to wind down when he arrived home. I pushed him to install them right away above our dining table. Dinner time came and I switched them on. Gosh, after 2 minutes, the blaring brightness gave me a very, very terrible migraine. Good thing my husband is a sweet person. He removed them right away š šš
I'm not on social media so I didn't know about any of these trends, but they're all horrible.
Yak yak youre not good at chat nor are you amusing how about some constructive comen
Love the Queen reference š
Those melting disco balls look like some space Pacman aliens straight out of early Star Trek. Ugh!
The foam trend instantly made me an old grump because for the first time, I could completely blame it on the younger generation. I guess thatās how the generational divide started, when Sokrates grumped about the youngsters making wavy columns or whatever
Until this video I had never heard of the foam thing, Thank God!
This is a very helpful way to protect us in spending a lot in inappropriate designs for our home. Appreciate it so much. š„°š„°
The expanding foam DIY's were hideous. How did anyone think it looked good š
Hallelujah! Thank you for calling B.S. on all this crap. š I was unaware of the disco ball trend…blissful ignorance!
Get rid of the fake plant
That foam spray furniture is horrific, and the ugliest stuff Iāve ever seen. Hard hard pass
Awful fake plant behind you. š¢
And how do you kickback and lay down on a curved sofa, can't be done
Boucle sofas are as practical as wall-to-wall shag carpeting. Anybody who recommends either should have their license to give decor advice revoked.
So happy youāre on YouTube. Love you advice and I agree with it.
I could never find a designer that would appreciate my well made furniture that is always going to be in. Real wood. Not painted. I don't make my own craft furniture. Good job.
Designers are trying to get rid of bouclĆ© or Sherpa. Itās been around for a very long time. Itās warm and cozy and looks very neat in small doses. I am thinking similar pieces come from top furniture stores to walmart for nearly the same-look piece and that is what people donāt like. Similar to the slipcover furniture at Pottery Barn very similar to IKEAs slipcover furniture. I donāt want to see this trend goā¦ I like the cozy and warm factor.
Spray foam is hideous
The foam furniture look like tumours.
I am totally confused why you would decide to shoot the video in front of that tacky, low budget fake plant- particularly since you're calling it out.
I imagine the reason why the masses like these fake plants is the same reason its in your video.
I usually wouldnt bother to comment on it, but since you did… Im extra confused.
I absolutely hate people who use books as decor. Worst of all when they take book covers off because they want the solid colour to match the decor or even worse they turn them around so the spines of the books are not seen! Ugh! Books are for reading and if you do have these books because they represent your interests, then let them be seen properly. I love seeing books on shelves that display someoneās interests such as Art, Music, History, Architecture, or photography in large coffee table books, if thatās what you are interested in. On shelves if it shows novels, such as great literature, or science fiction, Mangaās, Biographies, Gardening, gothic novels even childhood books that mean something to you. This is wonderful and gives your home personality and letās guests know what your interests are. Who you are and also creates dialogue. People should be proud of their books and for goodness sakes read them!
Everything you said in the video…AGREED. The end.
Interesting. Wasn't even aware of these 'trends.' Not much into social media trends, obviously for good reason!
Gray, everything gray š¤®
Bravo! Totally agree
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I too did not understand the spray foam furniture !! WHY??? I have had a long career in fashion and I can tell you a boucle jackets will look like a dirty standard poodle after a few weeks. I can just imagine what a large boucle piece of furniture will look like after a few weeks.
I worked as a material engineer many years ago. You are so right to emphasize cleaning, and longevity of a product based on what material it is made of. Objects that are hard to clean or deteriorate are not items you want to invest your money in. It is important to think about, materials, size function and aesthetics when picking items for your home. Thank You, Design Daddy for another helpful video.
This is so entertaining. Hilarious and useful info. Thank you ā¤ You also have one of the least annoying voices on YouTube.
Color pop! It's just a lame way to add color that's only disruptive. It's important to have good balance of the colors.
I would not fight you on any of these..for all the reasons you addressed
this was an awesome assessment
The curved sofas look nice, but they seat fewer people than a straight sofa. You end up clonking knees with others sitting there!
