Lisa, thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge. I watch ur videos all the time and you have helped me so much especially with your IKEA series. I absolutely dread to go to IKEA as I get sensory overload very quickly and you are so awesome to pick out pieces that look expensive but are on a budget. In one of your videos you talked about leather cabinet handles. I added them to my nursery and it made a massive impact on the cabinets. You are by far my absolute favourite YouTuber and you helped me realise just how important is to have designer for all house renovations. I realised my limits without making expensive mistakes and now I always consult professional experts. It saved money and the results were amazing. Many of us in Germany have at least on Kallax with 4 fields.
the polka glasses remind me so much of the cantine glasses we had at school growing up, it was also in every home in the 80's a,d90's and it had a number at the bottom that would be your age for the duration of the meal, and ther would be game with whom had the highest or lowest number would be the one getting the water refill or cleaning the table afterward. This glass was indeed a classic in france!
If IKEA goes away, a lot of “designers” are gonna lose their gigs. ????

Heck, you can actually hang the besta cabinets at the height the legs would have put them, or a little higher or lower at whatever height you find a surface would be useful. then it IS built in, it doesn't just look like it, and you never have to worry about cleaning under and behind it either.

Good choices! I too, love the Hemnes shoe cabinet (I love all the Hemnes stuff and have a lot of it), it comes in two versions and I use one in my hallway, with a round mirror over it – along with a small lamp and plant sitting on top. My hallway is narrow, and the depth of the low version is only 8.5 inches deep, so it makes a nice ledge, without sticking out into the hallway.
Also, I don’t use it for shoes! It’s right across the hall from the bathroom…so, I store extra towels (roll them), my hairdryer, and other items that can clutter the bathroom.
It’s a really flexible piece of furniture and because it isn’t deep, it’s likely to fit just about anywhere!

Malm bed storage is useless if you put the malm dressers/nightstands near them. For safety and recalls, the dresser, as shown in the video has to be anchored to the wall making it impossible to open the drawers near the pillows! Not sure why it was designed that way (I have both the bed and the dressers – if I want to access the drawers I literally have to move the whole bed). Beautiful and annoying at the same time

That IKEA shoe case is the absolute best, I buy the bigger version, line my hallway in them, the hide so much sin, I take out the middle liner in it and my son's school bag fits perfectly along with other stuff.
So down my hallway I've got shoes in 2 school stuff in one. My bags in another, voila instant tidy.

Hemnes shoe drop paired with Hemnes medicine cabinet in a small bathroom for extra storage. Have a piece of smoked glass cut to go on top of the shoerack and around the base of the medicine cabinet (you mount it right on top of the shoe rack). The colors aren't identical white, but I painted mine a French blue. Looked really great and wow, could I fit a lot (spare shampoos etc. fit perfectly; hair dryer etc.)

I wonder what Ikea has in the way of a small vertical storage unit for an apartment. I live in an apartment style condo and have no place, besides under the bed, for my stick floor steam cleaner. I only have one real closet, but I don't want to store anything that would add moisture to the closet where I store my clothes. I was thinking it would be great to have a small cabinet, without shelves, to store taller things like the stick steam cleaner and camera tripods.

Hello from Dallas, ladies! I hope your holidays have been as nice as mine. I’m looking around to see how we could make more floor space. My husband keeps making furniture and I don’t dare suggest that could could sell some of the overflow. It really hurts his feelings. My husband has way too much testosterone so for his feelings to get hurt is a big deal. Lol. I’m going to be traveling almost every two weeks until July. I need to keep a finger on your schedule for personal design help.
